Shadowrun : Prosperity
A Roleplay in Second Life
:: General Rules ::
Current as of 13 Oct 2017
This established set of rules are not subject for debate. While the Combat Rules are regularly being updated for balance purposes, and the addition of new weapons, items and classes, these rules are non-negotiable under normal circumstance.
1. The Default Combat system is the Action Roleplay Combat System
2. Players may opt to FFC (Free-form Combat) if BOTH parties agree to it. However, in doing so, you will also forfeit any obligated Staff support if any issues arise.
-
-This means that if you need a Facilitator for any disagreement with your combat scenario, the Facilitators may either suggest that both parties resort to the default system or flat out opt to refuse to sort the issue.
-
3. Metered systems are NOT allowed on sim. Weapons to be used for visual effects are fine, but scripted health and such are not. This includes but is not limited to CCS, DCS, Spellfire, Gorean Meters. They are NOT ALLOWED at ANY point on sim.
-
-When you get here, take them off.. if another player sees it, and you’re hit in a RP scenario because you wore your health meter, and someone’s weapon was compatible with it.. the Staff will ignore any complaints regarding this. Take it off, and you won’t have this problem.
-
4. Movement enhancing effects are not allowed, unless in provided Sim Vehicles.
5. Magic HUDs for visual effects are not allowed either. It doesn’t matter who made it, what it's for, or which combat meter it is compatible with. Don’t use them here.
6. If you can’t get to a place via regular physics or the provided Teleporters, then you can’t get there. Sit-hacking will not be tolerated. Sit-hacking into private homes will result in ejection from sim and 24-hour ban.
7. Respect. You are expected to treat all members the Shadowrun RP community the way you expect to be treated yourself, with respect! Don’t troll, grief, harass, *** talk, don’t show up at a location trying to pick a fight everyday, give RP time to breathe! No individual or group bashing will be tolerated. Sitting around complaining all day will also not be heard. There is a difference between giving suggestions, nitpicking at the rules, and pointing out every problem that you don't agree with. We will try to find a solution to every problem that works for the betterment of the Roleplay environment and the Sim as a whole. We will not tolerate any OOC attacks on any decision we've made, nor attacks against anyone else on this sim.
-
8. TOS Violations are BANNABLE OFENSES. Not just by us, but by Linden Labs as well. If you are found to have violated any part of the Second Life Terms of Service, you will be ejected from the sim and have an abuse report filed against you. The most common TOS violations are listed in Section 6 of the Second Life Terms of Service. This is NOT infrindging on a person's freedom of speech, and arguing with the staff of the sim will NOT change it. When you come into Second Life, you agree to abide by Linden Labs Terms of Service. If you have a disagreement with the TOS, take it up with Linden Labs. The admin will NOT risk our accounts or the sim because you disagree with the TOS. Refer to SECOND LIFE TERMS OF SERVICE

9. Griefing, Trolling, Disturbing the peace. This is not only a violation of the Second Life Community standards, but also a violation of Second Life Terms of Service, Section 6.2 which states, "6.2 You agree that you will not post or transmit Content or code that may be harmful, impede other users' functionality, invade other users' privacy, or surreptitiously or negatively impact any system or network." These violations will result in a permanent ban and a following abuse report being filed against the individual responsible. Refer to SECOND LIFE TERMS OF SERVICE.
10. Have fun. If you can’t do this, you’re on the wrong sim.
:: Status and Ratings ::
This sim uses a rating system to determine the skill levels of a character in the world of Shadowrun. Remember that your backstory plays only a minor role in this rating if at all. When you first get to the sim, you will not start as an Elite player, or Apex Street Samurai. It takes time to gain that sort of rating, and that will be how it happens here. This is so people will not abuse their backstories and become Masters at everything.
There are 5 Tiers of Ratings, and 14 Ratings total, starting from 0 to 13. Raiting 12 is the highest rating that player characters can achieve. Rating 13 is an NPC Only Rating that will usually be seen in Sim-Sponsored Campaigns. Each Tier determines how much base health (HP) and Action Points (AP) the player brings into a scenario, BEFORE gear and skill mods are applied. Each Rating determines how many items and spells/skills may be carried into an encounter. These increase as one ranks up. (Full details will be available on the Combat Rules page as they are completed.)
Applications for ratings are taken at the end of every month. Those members that are a part of a faction will submit their applications to their faction leads for review at the end of RP period. Those who are not in a faction will submit their applications via the provided terminal in the RP area.
::: NOTE ::: If you are in a faction you should know that submitting your Applications via the terminal will NOT process your applications any faster. You will simply slow down anyone that are waiting to be reviewed. If it is discovered that you are trying to cheat the system and bypass your faction lead via the terminal, you may have your application rejected until the next cycle.
IMPORTANT: Tier and Rating system has not been implemented as of yet. The Details will be posted on the Combat Rules Page, once they are complete. Refer tot eh Combat Rules page, for an overview of what to expect when the ARCS is complete, as well as the curent combat rules.
The Current ratings can be found HERE:

:: Griefing ::
Griefing of any kind is not permitted. It can be as simple as persistent OOC interference during an active RP. Shooting, excessive magic powers and effects will be considered griefing as they are not wanted. (See rule 4: "Assault" and rule 6: "Disturbing the peace" of the Community Standards. http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php)
Note: Harassment. We’d like to provide our players with as much of a stress free environment as possible. While we aren’t going to go out of our way looking to find IM logs of you bashing things we ask that you do not bash groups, players, gm’s, etc. Constructive criticism is tolerated but blatant bashing will not be “These guys suck they can’t meter worth ****”, “This player is a ****** moron” , etc. Be civil and you will run into no problems. Punishment for this offense will vary greatly depending on severity. This also includes trolling - ESPECIALLY in RP areas. We are sick to death of "blah blah this group sucks I won't play with them blah blah", you want to play on our playground you don't get a swingset to yourself, deal with it.
Note: CopyBot
Using any objects that appear to be copybotted, enable you to copybot, or prim copy are not allowed on Fourth Dimension, refusing to remove these objects will result in a permanent ban, and likely you will be reported to LL.
